Shipping Rates
The exact shipping charge is calculated during the check out process, and is based on a
combination of the items ordered, the ship-to destination, and the shipping method selected.
Wine shipments are typically bulky and heavy, and many states require a complicated sales and
tax reporting requirements for delivery. It is this combination of factors that contributes to
driving up the cost of wine shipping.

Why is shipping wine seem so expensive?
In addition to the administrative burden mentioned about, Wine is heavy and fragile. It
requires carrier approved specialized shipping containers. A full case order weigh in excess of
40 pounds.
Where does good riddance! ship its wine?
Each state establishes if it will allow retailers such as good riddance! to ship wine into their
state. Some prohibit it completely. Some have very few regulations. Others have laws that
regulate how much wine a consumer can have shipped to them over a specific period of time.
At present,
good riddance! can ship to consumers over the age of 21 residing in the following:
| Alaska | North Dakota |
| California | North Carolina |
| Florida | Ohio |
| Idaho | Oregon |
| Louisiana | Texas |
| Nabraska | Virginia |
| New Hampshire | Washington DC |
| New Mexico | West Virginia |
| Nevada | Wyoming |
Why can you ship some wines to one state but not another?
Each state has it's own alcohol regulation agency and maintains the right to limit wine
shipments entirely or partially. State laws regulating alcohol shipments prevent us from
shipping certain products into certain states or "dry" zip codes or areas of a state. If you can
receive a wine to your zip code, it will show on the wine list page when ordering. We have no
control over your state's laws.
Does good riddance! ship outside of the United States?
No. we do not ship outside of the United States at this time.
How do I ship to another location?
It is easy to ship to another location, such as to a friend, should you want to ship to a location
other than the one you used when you registered for good riddance!. Proceed with the
regular process for placing an order. On the "Shipping Information" screen, click on the edit
button and enter the name and address of the person to whom the wine is being shipped this
time. Remember that there must be a person over the age of 21 there to receive it. Please note,
there are some States that do not allow direct shipments. We will let you know if your
shipment is possible prior to completing the order.
How will I know when my beverages have been shipped?
Once your order is placed, within 24 hours you will receive an e-mail confirmation which will
include your order number(s) and details of your purchase including an expected delivery
window. In most cases, you will also receive email notification when your order has been
physically shipped. Please see your order confirmation for estimated processing and shipping
times.
Why does someone over the age of 21 need to sign for my order?
Under law, we may ship wine only to people aged 21 and above in states that allow wine
shipments to consumers.
How do I know that someone age 21 or older will take possession of the
wine once it's delivered?
We have two layers of verification. A secure system for ensuring that only people aged 21 and
over have ordered and take possession of the wine ordered. When the buyer registers our
system checks their name and address against a national database to ensure that they are who
they say they are and are 21 years of age or older. Additionally, UPS has a check and balance
in place that ensures that their drivers will physically hand the wine shipment to individuals
who have definitively proven that they are age 21 or older.
Should you not expect to be home when your order is anticipated, you have a couple of options.
Someone age 21 or above (they'll have to show valid identification) can accept it on your
behalf or you can arrange to have it shipped to another location, such as your work location,
should you work outside out of the home, or to a neighbor's.
What if I'm not home?
Our shipping company will make three (3) attempts to complete your wine shipment. If after
the third attempt they are unsuccessful, they will return the wine to the shipping location.
Upon an unsuccessful delivery, your charge for the order will remain, the original shipping
charges remain, and any rescheduling of delivery (if you choose to have re-delivered) will be
charged as an additional shipping charge.
It is always better to use a business address for your shipping address as there is usually
someone around during business hours to sign for the order.
We strongly encourage you to provide us, whenever possible, with a commercial address for
the delivery of your order. Having your order shipped to your work address provide all the
following benefits:
Your Order May Arrive Earlier - UPS Commercial Address Deliveries for all levels of service
typically arrive earlier in the day than at residential addresses.
You Won't Need to Worry About Missed Delivery Attempts - All deliveries will occur before
4:30 on a business day.
You Will Experience Fewer Driver Errors - UPS drivers know their commercial routes like the
back of their hands (if not better). Fewer driver delivery errors occur with deliveries to
commercial addresses.
Why is my order being held up because of weather?
As you know, wine can be damaged by exposure to extreme weather, such as extreme heat or
to freezing temperatures. When wine is at risk of being damaged, good riddance! may place
a temporary hold on orders being shipped to states affected by such extreme weather
conditions. To track the shipping status of your order, go to refer to the tracking number on the
email confirmation you received.
In general it is recommended that you order your wine to be shipped via an expedited service.
The less time your wine spends in transit, the less the chance of it being damaged. We
apologize for this inconvenience, but such is the dynamic nature of wine.
Why do you use only UPS?
We have integrated our order entry, shipping, and tracking system with UPS's. They provide a
very sophisticated system that streamlines the process of shipping wines safely and legally.
How do I track shipments?
Once you print the shipping label the tracking number is added to your order and is also
notified to the customer. This way both you and we can provide this information to customers.
How many tries will UPS make to deliver a wine?
UPS will attempt to deliver the wine three times. After the third try they will hold the order for
five days and if delivery can not be resolved they will return the wine to good riddance!.
What if I want to return wine?
good riddance! is committed to you having a positive experience when ordering wine from
us. Due to the unique "living" nature of wine, there are some special rules affecting returns.
Any shipping, expedited orders, or other non-wine fees are not refundable.
